Mr. Offutt has been teaching at Glade Elementary School for 28 years. He received his masters degree in elementary education from Mount Saint Mary's College. He also attended grades 2-12 in the Walkersville school system as a child. During his tenure at Glade, Mr. O has:
* Built Frederick County's
1st Schoolyard Habitat backed by the Nat'l. Wildlife Federation
* Designed The Kids' Paper, the first student-run
newspaper at Glade & the official school flags/banners with
students, John, Collin, Emily, & Mary
* Received the FCPS Rookie Teacher of the Year
Award, and has been nominated 7 times for the
Agnes Meyer, Charles Tressler, FCPS T.O.Y., and Disney's
American Teacher Awards
* Held positions of F.I.T., S.I.T., Team Leader,
Technology Team, Social Committee Treasurer,
and P.T.A. member
* Created and maintains Glade's 5 Day Forecast and DYK Fun
Fact Board
* Spends most of his free time with his children exploring local
parks and attractions
* He also enjoys watching the Washington Redskins, playing
board and computer games, and spending time on his farm in
his free time
